ESD (Electro Static Discharge) medium back vinyl draughtsman chair with chrome base, gas lift and adjustable footring.  This chair is fully upholstered (including back of the backrest) in a conductive Medistat vinyl which helps to ground static.
 
This ESD chair is suitable for use in tech' companies, manufacturing, micro electronics manufacturing, MOD research and the aviation industry. 
 
The seat height ranges from 580mm to 840mm giving a wide range of seating positions depending on your worktop/counter height.
 
The Foam used in this chair is moulded combustion modified foam and meets BS7176 Crib 5 fire retardancy.  In conjunction with a fabric or vinyl which also meets Crib 5 fire retardancy, this chair is also suitable for use in offices, public places, government departments, educational establishments, hospitals and the home.
 
Mechanism
A 2 lever mechanism controls the seat height and back angle
The back height is also adjustable.

Castors/Glides
Supplied with ESD glides as standard.  Please see options and information below for various ESD castors and glides available.
 
About Castors and Glides (All options are to ESD specification)
Glides: Glides are flat feet fitted to the base of the chair rather than castors that you would normally see on an office chair. These are used on chairs that do not generally require movement and for safer operating on draughtsman chairs.
 
Standard Castors: These are the same as castors you would see on most office chairs.
 
Soft Castors: Castors with a hard rubber edge on the wheels to help with grip and help the castors to roll rather than slide on hard floors such as tiles or laminate floors.
 
Brake Loaded Castors: These allow the chair to be freely moved around as with standard castors when no one is sitting on the chair. When there is weight on the chair, a brake is applied to the castor wheels and prevents the chair from moving. This helps with safety to prevent the chair from sliding forwards or backwards if the 'user' leans to far one way or the other but allows the chair to be moved easily when no one is seated.
 
Soft Brake Loaded Castors: A combination of Brake Loaded and Soft Castors.
 
Options
A seat slide mechanism (to allow the user to slide the seat forwards or backwards for the perfect seating position) and fixed or adjustable arms are also available as options.  Please note that adding a seat slide will increase the seat height by approximately 30mm.
